I think the inclusion of pictures following your descriptions adds immeasurably to your reviews. You are also becoming more skilled with adjectives as your culinary journey proceeds. As you know, I am not partial to fish, but the dish you ordered and pictured had me salivating as did your appetizer. Mushrooms and crispy pork, I'm on my way. Perhaps dinner the night we arrive?

Actually, the photo of the short ribs Sonia ordered made it look appealing to me, though I could see how it would be difficult to maneuver in that small dish. Fat and bone ... my favorite ingredients. Your photos dramatically enhance the attractiveness of your blog, and I'm glad you got to spend some time with Sonia. Old friends are the best friends.

Very good review though I'm not certain the service deficiencies should be as easily disregarded as you do. I would appreciate your at least trying and evaluating a meat dish or 2 since not all of us are Vegans. But the pasta w/truffles sounds scrumptious. Based on your prior reviews I would try it if I had time for 5 meals, but probably not if I only had 4.

Based on your review I see little reason to give it a try. One should not have to order selectively at a good restaurant. Sand in scallops is a turn off, and you even conclude that it would be appropriate for "non food gatherings." So why go?

Looks like this can be crossed our list when we visit. They served the soup I ordered at La Folie the same way .... huge bowl containing minuscule morsels over which they poured the consomme. The duck confit was MIA or so small as to be undetectable. Any way, no excuse for failing to serve brunch at that time of day, particularly when it was promised. There are too many other great restaurants to put up with those that fail to meet expectations. Start scouting out places for April.

Thousands of people can't be wrong... The success of their business is a testament to how good their cupcakes must be. Just because one person's taste is different doesn't mean that we should condemn the Magnolia bakery. I have baked their cupcakes using their recipe and the recipe for their icing and everyone raves about them.

I agree - this place was excellent for a fun, no-stress dinner and the food was really good (besides the fish tacos). My word of advice to readers: stick to one margarita.

I would order the Vongole if it were anywhere close to Mom's in quality. it's rare to find a place like this with a full liquor license, so I look forward to sampling the wares on a future trip or encouraging mom to do so since it sounds more like her kind of place.

I am excited about eating here with you and the crew. A little disappointed that the lobster fr was not higher rated, but pleasantly surprised with your review of the beef (not your usual favorite). How about the drinks? Any specialty cocktails of note. I intend to investigate this personally, and am interested to see how this place compares to Tao.
